Renault has reimagined one of its most beloved commercial vehicles, the Estafette, for the modern electric era. The all-new 2025 Renault Estafette E‑Tech combines retro styling inspired by the original 1959 van with cutting-edge electric technology and smart digital features, making it a standout in the growing market for electric light commercial vehicles.
Designed specifically for urban professionals, delivery services, and small business owners, the new Estafette is part of Renault’s innovative FlexEVan lineup, which was developed together with Volvo Group and CMA CGM through the Flexis joint venture. The production model is set to launch in 2026 and will be manufactured at Renault’s Sandouville plant in France.
The new Estafette strikes a balance between compact external dimensions and impressive load space. Measuring around 5.27 meters long, 1.92 meters wide, and standing tall at 2.60 meters, it offers an interior high enough (around 1.9 meters) for most drivers to stand upright while loading and unloading. This makes daily operations more comfortable and efficient, especially in urban environments where space and time are at a premium.
Practical features include wide sliding “galandage” side doors that can be opened even when carrying parcels, and a rear roller-shutter door that allows full-height loading and easy dock access. An interior walk-through door connects the cab to the cargo area, and integrated running boards simplify entry and exit.
The Estafette is powered by a rear-mounted Valeo electric motor producing around 145 kW (197 hp) and 300 Nm of torque, delivering quiet, responsive driving ideal for city deliveries.
Buyers can choose between two battery packs:
🔸A 60 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery, offering up to about 300 km of range (WLTP).
🔸A larger 81 kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery, capable of around 400 km (WLTP).
The 800 V electrical architecture supports ultra-fast charging, enabling a 15–80% charge in under 20 minutes. The van also includes vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology, so businesses can power tools or feed energy back to the grid.
Beyond its practical design and electric drivetrain, the Estafette is built as a software-defined vehicle. Renault’s FlexEVan platform uses a central “software brain” to manage predictive maintenance, provide real-time data to fleet operators, and offer over-the-air updates. Dedicated telematics and mobile apps help businesses track vehicles, optimize routes, and monitor driver behavior.
For even greater flexibility, Renault’s Qstomize program will allow buyers to adapt the Estafette to specific needs from refrigerated delivery to mobile workshops or crew cabs.
Visually, the Estafette pays homage to its classic predecessor with round LED headlights, a wraparound windscreen, and two-tone paint options like the eye-catching “Tropique Yellow” roof. Inside, drivers get a bright, panoramic cabin with a minimalist, high-tech dashboard that combines functionality with style.
